  • Configuration baselines, releases and their statuses
  • Status of change requests
  • Status of backups
  • Change history
  • Audit trails
  • Comparing versions of technology configuration items and showing the differences
  • Mapping technology configuration items to releases
  • Status of release of new configuration information.

For the assets within scope, Asset Manager must:

  • Review the count and status of un-used assets
  • Track entitlement(s)
  • Verify entitled vs. actual vs. deployed assets
  • Verify if recorded asset matches procurement
  • Review asset relationships
  • Assess impact of change on asset base
  • Assure accuracy of asset charging/recovery
  • Track financial charging for use of assets (invoice validation, recoveries, etc.)
  • Verify external data links/integrity
  • Review Asset Register.

The technology asset and configuration item status review should be done as per the frequency agreed. Validation activities may result in updates to the technology asset or technology configuration item. These updates must be triggered through the Change Management process.
